Easter Sunday

We went to church on Sunday around 8:30 am, because the children needed to practice their play one more time before the service. The play was about the resurrection of Jesus. Jacquelyn was Salome, William was the narrator and Jared was a flower from the field.

Jared and Tyler had the longest part in the play and they memorized everything before Sunday. William had the easiest part, being the narrator he was just reading from the paper. And Jacquelyn waited until the last minute to memorize her part. At the end it was a beautiful play.

Spring Break

What an awesome Spring Break we had!

For the last 3 years during Spring Break my amazing daughter Jacquelyn volunteers her time at Brookwood Gardens Convalescent Center in Homestead. Every year she dedicates 40 hours of her spring break to serve at the nursing home. That nursing home is very special to me and Jacquelyn knows that. I worked there from the time I was 16 until I graduated from college. Now my daughter that has been visiting the same nursing home since she was born works there as a volunteer - I'm so proud of her! The Staff and residents really appreciate her help, love and dedication.

While Jacquelyn was serving the community, I decided to take the boys to Tampa to visit with family and friends. Jack was already in Tampa helping his sisters with the new homes.

Peggy's House

Ok, so we stayed at my mother-in-law's house in Apollo Beach from Monday through Friday and had a great time; she has a beautiful coastal home. On Wednesday, I took Jared and William to the Ranch (where my two sister-in-law's new homes are being built) and they went fishing and hunting behind the property with their cousins John Henry, Chandler and Makayla while Jack & I spent some time with his father and his two brother-in-laws.

On Thursday, we went to visit my sweet friend Monica in St. Petersburg and spent the day at Fort De Soto Beach.

What a beautiful beach they have and it's free; you don't have to pay to get in. And there weren't a million people like we get here in Ft. Lauderdale Beaches. The kids love swimming in the golf waters. They got to see dolphins very close. They collected sea shells and star fish. They ate shell fish right out of the ocean; we even have videos to prove it. They said that the mussels and clams taste really good and fresh; I have to agree with them. We had a great time fellowshipping and talking about the Lord. At times we would just sit quiet admiring all the beauty that our awesome God created. We ended our day with a delicious meal prepared by Monica's mom and aunt (they were visiting form Dominican Republic). We just didn't want the day to end.

The next day Friday, I took the boys to the Ellenton Outlet Mall to buy new shoes for school. We all got home Friday afternoon, including Jacquelyn. On Sunday the kids are performing in a play about the resurrection at the church. I will be posting the video and pictures.

Atheist Holy Day

Happy April Fools' Day:

I received this joke via email from my friend Helen:

Court Sets Atheist Holy Day

An atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Christmas Holy Days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians.

The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days. The case was brought before a judge.

After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas and Easter, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays".

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists".

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states: The fool says in his heart, there is no God. Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day.

Court is adjourned.
